Although just one of the many ‘second-wave’ pop groups or solo artists during pop music’s famed British Invasion of 1964, (behind The Beatles and The Rolling Stones) The Zombies were and still are one of my favorites bands from that era.

That’s why I’m happy to hear that the UK quintet, formed in 1961 by keyboardist-songwriter Rod Argent and bassist Chris White, are reuniting four of its original members for a forthcoming American Tour. (guitarist Paul Atkinson passed away in 2004) The gigs will be in support of a brand new Zombies album titled ‘Still Got That Hunger’, according to an exclusive article by Rolling Stone magazine.

Their list of Zombies hits include ‘She’s Not There’, ‘Tell Her No’ (with that great ‘sigh’ near the song’s end) and ‘Time Of The Season.’

An interesting element of the new record is they’ve recruited Terry Quirk, the creator of the stunning artwork from their 1969 classic rock concept album ‘Odyssey & Oracle’ (with the misspelled word ‘Odessey’ on the record jacket) to design the new cover.

The last song written for that album (by Argent) was this 1969 hit ‘Time Of The Season’ which climbed to #3 that year. It’s an interesting alternate mix version from the HouseoftheHits music vault.
