Next week, the Associated Press and the UK’s British Movietone will begin uploading over 500,000 digitally restored newsreel footage videos to their respective YouTube channels. (see below)

The massive amount of video stories spans all categories of history, dating from 1895 to the present.

In regard to The Beatles, part of the vast collection features Fab Four film footage of significant Beatles history in their hometown of Liverpool, including attending the premiere of 1964’s debut flick ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ (with fans fainting), John, Paul, George and Ringo on the balcony of Town Hall, and a huge throng of sign-carrying supporters appealing to then-British Prime Minister Harold Wilson to save the band’s home breeding ground for the their talents, the famous Cavern Club.
