email-826322_128020 years ago today, on September 1st, 1995, along the southern shore of Lake Erie, the brand new, permanent home of The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame & Museum was dedicated, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony held at One Key Plaza (later renamed 1100 Rock And Roll Boulevard) in Cleveland, OH.

And to correspond with the Rock Hall’s 20th anniversary this year, award-winning Great Museums® Television‘s newest documentary, Sound Tracks: The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame & Museum, begins airing nationally on public television this month.

Filmed in HD, the one-hour documentary is narrated by Steven Van Zandt, lead guitarist for Bruce Springsteen‘s E Street Band.

Here’s a 32-second video preview:

[REPLAY]

In 1997, while working at Oldies 97.5  in Lansing, MI, and as part of a summer promotion with the Rock Hall, I had both the privilege and pleasure of doing my show live from their beautifully equipped radio studios.

If you’ve never been to the RRHOF, the documentary is your chance to have a free tour of the magnificent structure and fascinating displays of rock music’s storied history – from its roots to today.

Much more info on the documentary is found here.
