The new album by Prince has been released – but only in digital download form, and only on rapper/producer/entrepreneur Jay Z’s streaming service, TIDAL.
The much anticipated 11-track set, called HITnRUN Phase One, began streaming at 12:01 am on Monday (9/7)
Last month, as a move against the anticipated artists’ catalog domination by new streaming behemoth Apple Music, which launched in late June, Prince signed a “non-restrictive” deal with TIDAL, giving them exclusive rights to his entire album catalog, which now totals 33 albums.
