John Lennon would have been 75 years old today.
John Winston Lennon was born in Liverpool, England on October 9th, 1940 and died on December 8th, 1980 – gunned down by stalker, supposed fan and autograph seeker Mark David Chapman outside Lennon’s Dakota apartment building in New York City.
He was returning home that evening with wife Yoko Ono from the Record Plant Studio, where his new solo album called Double Fantasy had been recorded – and then released just three weeks prior on November 17th.
