According to a recent interview with Billboard Magazine, Sir Elton John‘s record producer of late, T-Bone Burnett, a new album from EJ is “finished” and “beautiful, very upbeat rock’n’roll.”
Burnett, also Vice-President of A&R (Artists & Repertoire) for Capitol Records, has produced John’s last two album projects – 2013’s Diving Board, and his penultimate with Leon Russell, The Union, in 2010.
Burnett also acts as Music Supervisor for HBO’s hit TV show ‘True Detective.’
In the interview, Burnett speaks about True Detective, his use of the Leonard Cohen song Nevermind as the show’s opening theme, about Elton’s new album, and other projects in the works.
