Another pop artist has jumped onto the Country Music bandwagon – at least for one night.
In recent weeks, veteran rock/classic rock acts like Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and The Rolling Stones have – to one degree or another – crossed over to the country side.
On May 13th, the 67 year-old Tyler released the country-flavored single Love Is Your Name – in digital media form only. And he’s doing a guest appearance on an upcoming episode of a top network television country-based show. (see below)
And this summer, the Stones shared the stage with Country Music stars Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood during the Nashville stop of their Zip Code Tour.
In fact, this wasn’t the first time Mick Jagger and Underwood have sang together on stage. On May 23, 2013 in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada, they dueted to wrap up her lengthy Blown Away Tour.
And two days later at Toronto’s Air Canada Center, the Stones performed Country Music Is Love with the country mega-star during the former’s 50 And Counting Tour.
Now it’s been announced that music legend, singer-songwriter Paul Simon, 73, will be joining Underwood, Paisley and Vince Gill, as well as Emmylou Harris, for the All For The Hall concert, being held on October 6th in New York City.
The proceeds from the event, an annual one since 2005, go to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
