About ‘HERE COMES SANTA CLAUS’  – Correctly titled Here Comes Santa Claus (Right Down Santa Claus Lane), it was another Christmas classic first done in 1947 by “The Singing Cowboy” Gene Autry.

It ended up a Top 10 holiday smash for Gene on both the Billboard Pop and Country charts that year (#9 and #5 respectively).

Over the decades, it’s been covered by many recording stars such as Doris Day, Alvin & The Chipmunks, The Beach Boys, Willie Nelson, Billy Idol, Bob Dylan, Mariah Carey, the group Chicago and many others.

Trivia Stuff – One of the more popular remakes of HCSC was by Elvis Presley on his 1957 holiday record Elvis’ Christmas Album.
