A holiday tradition for pop music lovers since 1963, A Christmas Gift For You from Philles Records (aka ‘Phil Spector’s Christmas Album’) is being presented here track-by-track over the Yuletide season – all 13 songs in their RARE re-mixed two-track STEREO form!

One track per day will be featured during the holiday season during the ‘Phil Spector 12 Days (+1) of Christmas Special ‘ which will end on December 24th (Links for the tracks you may have missed thus far are below).

Happy Holidays – and enjoy!

About ‘Santa Claus Is Coming To Town’ Haven Gillespie and J. Fred Coots wrote the song in 1932, but had trouble convincing anyone to sing it because it was seen as a hard-to-sell kids’ song.

But a breakthrough occurred two years later when Coots, who was a writer on American performer-singer-comedian-dancer Eddie Cantor‘s radio show, pushed the host to perform it on the program. It became an instant hit.

Trivia Stuff: The only Billboard U.S. Top 40 placing of this song is the 1962 version by The Four Seasons, which hit #23 and featured Frankie Valli‘s famous falsetto letting children know they “better not cry-y-y-y.”
